Hello, I am Rashmi Mehta, known as photographer operating as Photo Atoms. My studio was near Friends Grocers and Nile Sports House on Lubas Road. presently I am with Nikon Canada in Mississauga, Ontario. I also shoot pictures part time.I was friends with lots of guys, Mahendra Paoo of Nile Young Stars, Sultan Rashid, KR Jobanputra, Bhupendra Ashabhai Patel, Suren Dave, Himat Toprani, Inayat, Ramzan, Ashgar Manek, Suresh Patel, Pravin Mehta, Sadru Mitha of Caltex, and many more. Was too shy so did not have many female friends. We lived on main road going to Kampala, Near govt Sec School. Our neighbours were Ramnik and Surekha Majithia. Our area friends were Chandra Joshi, Jaya(now in Parbhat Harbham family in UK) , Hansa Kotecha whose husband was teacher in Govt Sec School.I played Cricket and then took up Tennis at IRC.I took pictures at the army barracks and shot Idi Amins wedding as well. My pictures of Obote, Kabaka and Amin were seen in many businesses and homes.Left Uganda for better future in 1971 before the coup.
